In 2023, Rampur Asava Indian Single Malt Whisky from Radico Khaitan received the honour of being named the Best World Whisky at the esteemed John Barleycorn Awards. Additionally, it became the sole Indian whisky brand to feature in the Top 100 Premium Wines and Spirits list that year.

Rampur Asava is set to enter the Indian domestic market, catering to whisky enthusiasts. The accolade from the John Barleycorn Awards underscored Rampur Asava’s exceptional quality and distinctive features.
A wire feed reported that Rampur stands out among world whiskies due to its innovative approach to ageing. The Himalayan climate, characterised by extreme variations throughout the year, imparts a unique flavour to Rampur, with the famous Indian Summer adding depth. The interaction between the malt and the cask is extensive, leading to maturation nearly four times faster than in Scotland.
Sanjeev Banga, President of International Business at Radico Khaitan Ltd, emphasised that their presence as possibly the sole Indian company in the industry offering products like Rampur Indian Single Malt Whisky, Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin, and Sangam World Malt Whisky in the super-luxury segment, alongside global alcohol giants, speaks volumes about their quality.
Banga added that the worldwide accessibility of their products, combined with the recognition and endorsements from leading experts, including the recent accolade from the John Barleycorn Awards, serves as evidence of their steadfast dedication to product excellence and customer contentment.
